BOOKS OF JAMES AT THE NATIONAL THEATRE

to Nov 12, 2022ALL, PREMIERES, THEATRE

Production of the most important novel by Olga Tokarczuk, a Polish Nobel laureate. Directed by Michael Zadar. Premiere on November 12, 2022.

In the middle of the 18th century, in Podillia, Jakub Leibovich Frank proclaimed new principles of the Jewish faith. For some, he was the revealed Messiah, while others fought him as a heretic and sectarian. Full of unusual adventures, Frank's story fits into the image of the republic-a country of many cultures and nationalities at the turn of the epochs. It also reflects today's reality with its threats, but also with the hope that the design of the world can be better.
